Sheer bliss Ed

Ed Sheeran

TO mesmerise almost 40,000 people over three nights at the cavernous O2 — on your own — is certainly not an easy feat.

Last weekend saw the inimitable Ed Sheeran do just that — without as much as one backing vocalist onstage beside him. Alongside the expert audience interaction, there was one moment of spine-tingling bliss when the 21-year-old put down his guitar and sang — completely alone.

In a world of huge productions, flashy pyrotechnics and bronzed backing dancers, Sheeran is a beacon of light for the music industry.
Rare, raw talent was all he needed to wow his audience.
He may have been born in England but his roots (not least those on his head) are very much Irish.
Oh, and his duet with Galway cousin Laura Sheeran on Sunday was wonderful.
Come back soon Ed!
