Pudsey to boogie at TV awards

WONDER hound Pudsey is embarking on his biggest challenge to date – performing the Gangnam Style dance.

The Britain’s Got Talent winner is in secret training with his owner, Ashleigh Butler, in a bid to perfect South Korean singer Psy’s famous hip shuffle and lasso moves by next week.

He has been booked to showcase his version of the global internet sensation for the National Television Awards, at London’s O2 Arena, on January 23.

A show source said: “Like billions of other creatures across the world, Pudsey is a huge fan of Gangnam Style.

“And like many others, he has been trying to do the moves. They aren’t that easy to get right, even for those with two legs.

“Ashleigh has been training him up and putting him through his paces for the past few weeks. He hasn’t been through this much intense training since Britain’s Got Talent.”

ITV are hoping the routine goes on to become an internet sensation, just like Psy’s original version, which has been viewed an incredible 1.2BILLION times on YouTube.

It will no doubt create some confusion in parts of South Korea — where dogs are considered by some to be a CULINARY DELICACY Pudsey’s dance will be a highlight of next week’s NTAs, which sees BGT nominated in the talent show category.

But he won’t be the only product of Simon Cowell’s reality shows attempting a tricky dance.

X Factor host Dermot O’Leary is set to team up with Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell for a quickstep routine during the ceremony.

Pudsey’s boogie is just the latest high-profile project for the popular pooch.

He recently starred in the BBC’s adaptation of Little Britain comic David Walliams’ kids’ book Mr Stink and appeared in panto over the festive season. He also has his own “autobidography” out.
